Once an industrial outpost, Denver’s RiNo (River North) District has evolved over time into an enviable postcard of retail, entertainment, and nightlife – one that draws in national brands, independent storefronts, and experiential concepts. Divided by train tracks into east and west sections, RiNo has seen rapid growth, with the west side emerging as a hub for dining and entertainment while the east side attracts flagship and first-to-market retailers. The district’s young professional, student, and tourist demographic certifies a steady flow of foot traffic.
The RiNo Experience
RiNo moves at a fast-pace – one that is boosted by its high-energy, experience-driven retail mix, with a blend
Blue Moon Brewing Company has announced it will close its River North Art District (RiNo) brewery and restaurant by the end of March, marking the end of an era for the Denver-based beer brand. The brewery at 3750 Chestnut Pl., which first opened in 2016, served as a testing ground for experimental beers while offering a full-service dining experience.
Founded in 1995, Blue Moon originally brewed its first Belgian-style wheat ale at Coors Field’s SandLot Brewery. Over the years, the RiNo location became a hub for craft beer lovers seeking small-batch exclusives and a curated food menu.
The closure comes amid a challenging period for Colorado’s brewing industry, with 41 breweries shuttering in 2024 as beer sales declined more than the national average.
Blue Moon’s final day of service will be Saturday, March 29.

With rental rates ranging from $75 to $100 per square foot and a vacancy rate between 10%-15%, the area remains competitive yet accessible compared to Denver’s other high streets. Leasing activity is strong, particularly for brands that emphasize experiential or lifestyle-driven retail.
