Why Brandmarch Exists:

An Interview withFounder Brett Robinson

A practical response to how fragmented retail real estate information still is.

?Why did you start Brandmarch?

I kept seeing the same inefficiency over and over. The most valuable information in retail real estate lives in people's heads, inboxes, and private spreadsheets. Brands, brokers, and landlords all spend huge amounts of time trying to figure out who represents what, where brands are expanding, and which locations actually matter. There was no neutral place where that information could live and stay current.

?Who is Brandmarch really for?

People doing real work. Tenant reps, leasing teams, brand real estate executives, and developers who want signal instead of noise. It's not a listing dump and it's not social media for the sake of posting.

?Was there a specific moment that pushed you to build it?

Yes. I watched brands make decisions with incomplete information, brokers repeatedly reintroduce themselves to the same people, and shopping centers struggle to get in front of the right tenants. Everyone was working hard, but the system itself was inefficient. That's usually a signal a platform should exist.

?How is this different from existing platforms?

Most platforms focus on listings or transactions. Brandmarch focuses on context. Who's active, who represents who, what brands are expanding, and where momentum actually exists. That's the information people try to piece together manually today.

?What problem are you most focused on solving?

Information asymmetry. Retail real estate still operates like it's 2005. If you don't already know the right person, you're at a disadvantage. Brandmarch is about making the market more transparent without turning it into a race to the bottom.

?What does success look like?

If someone logs in and quickly knows the right person to reach better than they did yesterday, we're doing our job. Long-term, Brandmarch should reduce wasted outreach, shorten deal cycles, and reward people who share accurate information.
