Description
ABC Stores is a well-known brand in Hawaii, having gained recognition in the tourism industry since its establishment in 1949. With over 70 stores, ABC Stores started as a small family-owned business and has grown to become a trusted name, offering convenience and excellent service to its customers. Founded by Sidney and Minnie Kosasa, the brand initially started as a drug store called Thrifty Drugs in the 1930s. Sidney's experience in the grocery and pharmaceutical industry led him to recognize the need for conveniently located stores offering fair prices to tourists visiting Waikiki. In 1964, the first ABC outlet opened on Waikiki Beach, with a diverse range of products including groceries, souvenirs, drugs, cosmetics, and more. Since then, ABC Stores has expanded its footprint, with locations on every major island in Hawaii, as well as in Guam, Saipan, and Las Vegas. In addition to its original concept, ABC Stores now includes Island Gourmet Markets, Island Country Markets, and the Honolua General Store. From locally made chocolates and coffees to Hawaiian apparel, jewelry, home decor, and gifts, ABC Stores offers a wide variety of products that cater to both locals and visitors alike. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, ABC Stores continues to be a go-to destination for all your Hawaiian shopping needs.
