pOpshelf

pOpshelf is an innovative, upscale retail concept designed by Dollar General to capture a higher-income demographic through an experiential, non-consumable focused model. Serving as a high-productivity Junior Anchor for Class A and B suburban power centers and lifestyle developments, pOpshelf specializes in on-trend home décor, seasonal entertaining, beauty, and "joy-driven" impulse items, with 90% of the assortment priced under $5. Unlike traditional discount models, pOpshelf targets suburban women in households with incomes between $50,000 and $125,000, utilizing a vibrant pink-and-white aesthetic and a frequently rotating "treasure hunt" inventory to drive high visit frequency and significant dwell time. For landlords and developers, pOpshelf offers the institutional credit backing of a Fortune 100 parent (Dollar General) combined with a modern, design-centric brand identity that synergizes perfectly with premium grocery, fashion, and beauty co-tenants. The brand is currently optimizing its "right-sized" 9,000–12,000 SF footprint to anchor high-visibility endcaps and inline positions in rapidly growing suburban corridors.
