NYC mayor unveils mixed-use development goals for Meatpacking District

A plan to transform Gansevoort Square in NYC's Meatpacking District into a mixed-use development is progressing. On January 29th, Mayor Eric Adams unveiled a request for proposals which would include 600 apartments—half of them affordable—along with open areas and retail opportunities on Little West 12th Street. The initiative is part of the mayor’s broader effort to create 100,000 new housing units in Manhattan over the next ten years.
