High-end Downtown Birmingham, Mich., now seeking more affordable restaurant tenants

The Downtown Birmingham district, located about 20 miles northwest from Detroit, Michigan, caters to a sophisticated, upscale clientele with its luxe tenants and restaurants.

As for recent retail tenancy trends in the district, Cynthia Kratchman, one of the Local Experts for the high street area, expounded on the large number of fine dining eateries filling up vacant spaces. She exclaimed, “Over the last few months we have had a lot of local restaurants open in all different categories, from health conscious food to ethnic dining establishments to even a supper club!”

In an effort to provide even more types of food options to the many visitors to the Downtown Birmingham district, Kratchman is open to speaking to brokers representing less pricey dining establishments. She said, “We now have so many higher-end restaurants that we’re hoping to lease some of our upcoming spaces to the less expensive, more casual type restaurants in the future.”
