High-end fashion is making its way to downtown Birmingham. Luxury retailers Rag & Bone, Vuori, and J.Jill are set to join the city’s shopping scene, with openings planned for early 2026.
J.Jill, the national women’s apparel brand, will debut a brand-new concept store inside the historic building at 284 W. Maple Road.
Rag & Bone, the trend-setting New York label, is opening its first standalone Michigan boutique — a two-level, loft-style space at 110 S. Old Woodward Avenue.

Snap Taco is coming to downtown Birmingham! The family-owned Mexican restaurant, originally based in Lake Orion, is opening its second location at 126 S. Old Woodward Avenue. Known for its street tacos, queso dip, burritos, and other classic Mexican dishes, Snap Taco also serves up refreshing margaritas, tequila, and wine.
Luxury meets design as RH plans to open its doors in downtown Birmingham on November 21, 2025, bringing elevated home furnishings and curated style to the heart of the city.
Located at 300–394 S. Old Woodward Avenue, this stunning new space will mark Michigan’s first full-service RH gallery. As part of the Woodward Bates redevelopment project, the gallery will feature a striking architectural design and offer more than just furniture—it will include a barista bar, indoor and outdoor dining, and even a wine vault, creating a fully immersive lifestyle experience.

Another furniture store is set to join the downtown Birmingham market: Design Within Reach plans to take over part of the former Anthropologie space at 214 W. Maple Road.
Founded in Stamford, Connecticut, the high-end retailer offers the world’s largest selection of authentic modern furniture, lighting, and accessories. With a focus on creating timeless, move-with-you pieces designed to make home a priority, Design Within Reach emphasizes quality and longevity. This will be the brand’s second location in Michigan, adding to its existing 72 U.S. stores and one international outpost in Paris.
Street Beet, the vegan-based sandwich shop originally located in Detroit, is growing across Michigan and will be opening a brand-new location in downtown Birmingham. The sandwich shop will be based inside a grocery store at 233 N. Old Woodward Avenue and will offer a walk-up window for carryout orders. Street Beet is also planning their expansion in Rochester and Ann Arbor.
