Izzy’s Steaks & Chops is set to reopen in San Francisco’s Marina District after an extensive remodel, blending nearly four decades of tradition with a refreshed look and elevated menu. Managing partner Samantha DuVall Bechtel, daughter of founder Sam DuVall, is leading the revival, ensuring the steakhouse maintains its legacy while embracing modern updates.
The redesigned two-story, 4,800-square-foot space now features an open dining area, private booths, and a wrap-around mural honoring San Francisco’s past. New executive chef Daniel Lucero, whose fine dining background includes Bouchon Bistro and Italienne, brings refined techniques to the menu, preserving classics like The Gomez prime rib while introducing thoughtful updates.
