Raon Brings a Kimchi-Focused Tasting Menu to New York This March

The team behind Korean-French restaurant Soogil is introducing Raon, a new kimchi-centric dining experience, set to open on March 4 at 207 E. 59th Street in Lennox Hill. Helmed by chef Soogil Lim and Saook Youn, the restaurant will offer a tasting menu that pairs different styles of kimchi with each dish, much like a wine pairing experience.
Guests can expect both classic and rare kimchi varieties, such as baechu (napa cabbage), bo kimchi (wrapped kimchi), and mukeunji (long-aged kimchi), matched with dishes like king crab with oi kimchi salad, tuna and caviar with baek kimchi, and foie gras mandu with aged napa kimchi. Reservations open on February 18 via Resy, offering New Yorkers a deep dive into Korea’s most essential fermented staple.
