About Ballston Quarter
Ballston Quarter is a mixed-use redevelopment in Arlington, Virginia, built on the site of the 1951 Parkington Shopping Center, one of the first shopping centers in the Washington, D.C. area constructed around a multi-story parking garage. After operating for decades as the enclosed Ballston Common Mall, the property was reimagined into an open-air mixed-use destination with retail, dining, entertainment (including Regal Cinemas and the Quarter Market food hall), office space, and residential units, reopening in November 2018. The roughly 594,000-square-foot center adjoins the MedStar Capitals Iceplex, training home of the NHL's Washington Capitals, and connects directly to the Ballston-MU Metro station.
