After a two-year hiatus, Carmine’s is set to make its highly anticipated return to Chicago’s Gold Coast this spring. The iconic Italian restaurant, previously housed at 1043 N. Rush Street, has undergone a $4 million redevelopment, with the new space debuting in late May at 1037 N. Rush Street

The redesigned 10,000-square-foot restaurant will feature a second-floor dining space with an outdoor terrace and bar, offering year-round seating overlooking Mariano Park and Rush Street. The ground floor of the new building will be occupied by Swiss sportswear brand On, marking a shift in the area’s evolving retail and dining landscape.

While the updated menu is still under wraps, Rosebud Restaurants confirms that Carmine’s will bring back its signature dishes alongside new offerings inspired by other Rosebud locations.

The restaurant’s revival follows significant changes to Rush Street, including the transformation of the former Tavern on Rush into Bellevue, further solidifying the area as one of Chicago’s premier dining destinations.
